To what extent do teachers feel they are equipped to help children and young people aged 11–16 who self-harm? A qualitative study

This chapter will briefly review some of the literature on self-harm, its prevalence, relevant national policies, and research with teachers, before reporting the findings of a qualitative study conducted in 2016 which investigated how prepared secondary-school teachers were dealing with young people who self-harm.
