Abstract

Rick Langford points to a scoreboard. Langford is a Bradenton native who played baseball at Manatee Junior College (now State College of Florida) and was Player of the Year in 1972. He later pitched for the Pittsburgh Pirates (1976) and Oakland Athletics (1977-1980). After retiring, he became a pitching coach for other major league teams.
