Abstract
- To keep eating healthy and maintaining healthy lifestyle, this master thesis document represents an experiment on the possibility of designing a system that follows generative design methods that transforms the nutritional process of calculating the Total Daily Energy Expenditure (TDEE) and counting Macronutrients (Protein , Carbohydrates and Fat) into edible ergonomic geometries that can be 3D printed out of natural healthy ingredients through using FOODINI 3D printer. The author needed to use data from four different fields (Generative Design, Nutrition,Digital Fabrication and Food technology) to achieve the objectives: design the system, to 3D print the prototype to test the system, and later check what are the potentials of this system as conclusion. Collecting data in this project follows qualitative method most of the research: checking the latest projects related to 3D printing food topic and analyse them, after that making a public interview to check the public opinion of the whole concept. In the other hand, the part where nutritional data comes, quantitative method is applied for getting the data of the math and calculations. In conclusion, the result are: A system programmed on the digital tool Grasshopper 3D , a 3D printed prototype out of natural ingredients , ideas for improving the project in future.
