Abstract
- The article examines some textbooks for German as a Foreign Language which are currently used in Swedish schools: Lust auf Deutsch, Ausblicke and Lieber Deutsch 2.0. The focus lies on the question to what extent the legally established concept of mångfald (diversity) is realized in the textbooks – that is in regard to the discriminatory reasons of 'sex', 'ethniticy', 'religion or other belief', 'transgender identity or expression', 'sexual orientation', 'age' and 'disability'. Special emphasis is put on gender-aspects in the broader sense, based on a norm-critical approach. The results show that 'diversity' cannot be found in the textbooks; consequently, a desideratum for the revision or new development of textbooks respectively is identified.
