Abstract

[EN] The main Task is the investigation of the flow in an electrolysis cell with Resonant Oscillation Technology by means of computational fluid dynamics. The target of this flow simulation is to find out how the flow behaves in a given system for a given set of inlet and outlet conditions (boundary conditions). The basic method is to calculate the values of the flow of water in the vessel at a large number of points. The numerical grid or mesh is formed as a result of the connected points. The flow is represented by a system of differential equations, what is converted to a system of algebraic equations representing the interdependency of the flow at those points and points around them. These algebraic equations require a digital computer to solve. Due to their effectiveness and practicality, CFD methods are quickly replacing experimental and analytical approaches. So the main task is a CFD based mixing investigation (development of appropriate solver, set up a model) and an equivalent experiment in the laboratory with Laser Doppler Anemometry to prove that model and solver are working correctly.
