Mammozoological collections in Colombia

In this issue Mammalogy Notes and the Colombian Society of Mammalogy (SCMas) make special recognition of the importance of biological collections to study, understand and promote the knowledge and conservation of mammals. We hope that with this new series of manuscripts we will be able to make visible the main strengths and weaknesses of the biological collections that house mammals in Colombia and that it will be a starting point for the articulation of collections with the SCMas collections committee.
En este número, Mammalogy Notes y la Sociedad Colombiana de Mastozoología (SCMas) hacen un reconocimiento especial a la importancia de las colecciones biológicas para estudiar, entender y promover el conocimiento y la conservación de los mamíferos. Con esta nueva serie de manuscritos, esperamos visibilizar las principales fortalezas y debilidades de las colecciones biológicas que albergan mamíferos en Colombia y que permita ser un punto de partida para su articulación con el Comité de Colecciones de la SCMas.
