Vincent, a local lawyer of prominence, represented individuals in a variety of cases including vagrancy, grand larceny, and operating a house of ill fame. His clients, for the most part, however, were involved in more routine litigation, including divorces, civil suits, and commercial activities. His daily diaries chronicle not only his professional life, but also provide insight about his personal life, including his avid interest in history and his involvement in building a library for Fairmont.
