A longitudinal evaluation of Treponema pallidum PCR testing in early syphilis

This evaluation determined that a PCR test was 89% sensitive at diagnosing primary syphilis lesions, including detecting Treponema pallidum in the 10% of patients with syphilis who were seronegative.
