Calidad de vida en portadoras del virus de la inmunodeficiencia humana, usuarias del hospital Vicente Corral Mocoso, Cuenca 2018

Abstract

Aim: determine life quality in Human Immunodeficiency Virus carriers, patients of Vicente Corral Moscoso Hospital; Cuenca – 2018. Methodology: a descriptive analytical cross-sectional study, performed in a 41-HIV-patient-census sample of Vicente Corral Moscoso hospital; a WHO-validated questionnaire “WHOQOL-HIV BREF” was used. Variables were showed with frequency and percentage values, average and standard deviation. Association was established with p < 0,05 value, RR and CI 95%. Results: age average was 31 years old (± SD 10), quantity of pregnancies and births was 1 (± SD 2), Start of Active Sexual Life: 18 years old ( ± SD 3), sexual partners: 5 (± SD 15), monthly income was 406 (± SD 196). 36,6% (n 15) were single; 31,7% (n 13) were from Cuenca canton; 29,3% had a secondary education level; socioeconomic level was medium 68,3% (n 28). 85% showed a poor life quality and lack of information was the only statiscally related factor with poor life quality (RR 1,6; CI95% 1,0 – 3,05; p 0,02 value). Conclusions: HIV/AIDS patients’ quality life was poor, and lack of information for accomplishing daily chores was the related risk factor.
