Secondary instabilities and chaos in optical ring cavities

Abstract
- The dynamical evolution of the modulational instability is studied in a coherently driven passive optical fiber cavity.We showthat periodic pattern generated close to the threshold experience convective and absolute Eckhaus instabilities.
