Abstract
- Lamp is made from a projectile and is attached to a wooden base. The projectile depicts, in relief artistic technique, a waving sailor with a woman holding on to his arm. Additionally, the name "Marie" is also in relief on the projectile. The relief artistic technique refers to when the background of a material such as stone, ivory, or metal is sunk to make the foreground protrude. Most of the projectile is decorated with a technique called "pebbling" which is when the surface is decorated with indentations. The lamp is missing a light bulb socket and electrical cord.
