Abstract

This badge is made of an unknown metal, and features a royal crown above the motto of the Order of the Garter: "HONI SOIT QUI MAL Y PENSE" ("Shame be to him who thinks evil of it") inscribed upon a garter that surrounds a shield bearing three cannons. Inscribed on a scroll below is, "ROYAL ARMY ORDNANCE CORPS". Great Britain's Royal Army Ordnance Corps was formed after World War I in 1918, from the merging of the Army Ordnance Department and the Army Ordnance Corps.
