Abstract
- In this paper, we present a study of the expanding H2 region RCW 89 which is thought to be a part of the radio supernova remnant MSH 15-52 and its associated young 150 ms pulsar B1509-58. We had measured the proper motion of each of the plasma clouds in RCW 89, revealing that these plasma clouds have moved outwards from the SNR (SuperNova Remnant) center. In order to resolve what is moving at a velocity of approximately 5,600 km/s, we performed spectroscopic analysis of each of the plasma clouds using XMM (X-ray Multi-Mirror)-Newton and found that each plasma cloud has significantly different redshift. This result strongly suggests that the X-ray emission in RCW 89 comes from the fast expanding SN (SuperNova) ejecta.
