Abstract

This proposal addresses the treatment of segmental bone defects and methods that can be used to manipulate the Masquelet induced membrane (IM) to create a graft bed that optimizes bone regeneration. The Chronic Caprine Tibial Defect (CCTD) model is used 1) to improve surgical technique and 2) to optimize spacer design; these are likely to advance bone regeneration strategies and translate into clinical practice<br />The original document contains color images.
