The Unchained Prosthesis: Towards the Politics of Clinamen

This essay argues that the political, because of its emergent properties, is not an observable phenomena, that is to say, that what emerges out of the political as that which is observable under the particular circumstances is ‘the model of the political’: a certain situational configuration that attends the encounter with the subject of the model of the political, out of which the intensities are produced. This encounter, in the final analysis, is the pure experiment with the model. To state that the political is not observable does not mean to equate it with either ‘everything’ or, on the contrary, ‘nothing’: these notions are irrelevant for the political precisely because nothing has the tendency to transform itself into something and, on the other hand, everything is not everything since the political deals with the part that are not yet parts: the inclusion of the impossible into discourse of the possibility. The subject of the model of the political is the finite state of this process, and the inclusion becomes apparent on the empirical level of politics. In this way, the political – through the system’s regenerative capacity – transforms itself into administrative apparatus and the included novelty becomes a system leaving no trace except the forever changed situation. Šis tekstas kalba apie politiškumą (the political) kaip apie tam tikrų savybių apspręstą ir, dėl būtent šių priežasčių, nepastebimą fenomeną; kitaip tarian, tai, kas iškyla iš politiškumo kaip pastebima jo dali yra „politiškumo modelis“: tam tikra situacijinė konfigūracija kuri dalyvauja susidūrime su politiškumo modelio subjektu, o šis susidūrimas produkuoja tam tikro lygio intensyvumus. Šis susidūrimas yra ne kas kita kaip grynas eksperimentas su modeliu. Teigti, jog politiškumas nėra, iš esmės, imlus stebėsenai nereiškia jo sulyginimu su „viskuo“ (everything) ar, priešingai, su „niekuo“ (nothing): šios sąvokos politiškumui, kaip tokiam, neturi jokios reikšmės būtent dėl „nieko“ tendencijos transformuotis į kažką ir, kitą vertus, „viskas“ nėra viskas nes politiškumas kalba apie tas dalis, kurios dar nėra tikros dalys: neįmanomybės įtraukimas į galimybės diskursą. Politiškumo modelio subject yra baigtinė šio proceso stadija, o šis įtraukimas tampa matomu empiriniame politikos lygmenyje. Tokiu būdu politiškumas transformuojasi į administracinį aparatą ir įtrauktas neįprastumas (novelty) tampa pačia sistem nepaliekant jokių pėdsakų apart amžiams pakeistos situacijos. Galiausiai, pagrindinis politiškumo principas yra kompozcija: kompozicija, kaip serijinis veiksmas, yra skirtingumas (difference).
