Abstract

This article presents the central ideas (as they are seen by the authors) which were discussed during a decisionmaking and knowledge-based sciences workshop held in Northern Virginia in 1985. The workshop explored research issues, and also addressed an agenda designed to take advantage of a multi-disciplinary approach. Research having a potentially high payoff in the areas of knowledge-based support of human information processing, judgement, and choice is described. This article also serves as the conference's final report.
