Abstract

Applications of a simple underwater imaging model (SUIM) are presented, which help to identify limiting factors in conventional underwater imaging applications, such as diver visibility. The model includes the effects of scattering caused by particles as well as turbulent flow structure. The effect of path radiance is also discussed.<br />Presented at the International Conference on Current Problems in Optics of Natural Waters (ONW'2009), held in St. Petersburg, Russia, on 8-11 Sep 2009.
