Abstract

A unique solid-state giant magnetoresistive (GMR) biosensor is the centerpiece of an integrated sample processing system for the detection of target DNA molecules through hybridization. In addition to the electromagnetic instrumentation, surface chemistries and assays have been developed, as well as a cartridge-based microfluidics network in which pumps and valves are operated by an independent actuation mechanism.<br />Published in Micro Total Analysis Systems, p444-446 2001. Sponsored in part by DARPA.
