Abstract

In this paper a numerical investigation is carried out on the queueing system G/M/s/N with two classes of customers. Arriving class 1 customers are buffered subject to capacity limitations. Arriving class 2 customers are denied access to the system when the system is filled to capacity or more service channels are busy. In addition to determining some of the most significant performance measures of the system, the numerical analysis highlights the effect of the arrival process on measures such as the mean number in the system, mean delay, probability of blocking, channel utilization and mean busy cycle.
