Abstract

The present paper introduces a modified high-speed digital signal processing system using stand-alone digital signal processor boards. A remarkable acceleration of the operation which is based on the FFT burst analyzer technique has been enabled by the parallel mode calculation. Time series measurements, transient measurement, and local particle size and mass flux measurements are permitted with acceptable accuracy for signals with a lower signal to noise ratio. Thereby, so-called multi-purpose high speed signal processor was developed for LDA/PDA, and confirmed a high performance of real time measurement for 1600 particles per second by six DSPs.
