Abstract

Several hindered allowed beta-transitions and forbidden decays are investigated through beta-ray longitudinal polarization, beta-gamma correlation and beta-shape factor studies. The results are presented and their significance is examined. No evidence is found, within experimental limits, for significant contributions of higher order effects in hindered allowed beta-decay with moderate energy release. Considerable success is achieved in understanding properties of several forbidden beta-transitions in terms of meaningful nuclear models and expectations based on current theory of weak interactions. Studies of influence of multiple scattering of electrons on angular correlations are reported. (Author)
