Abstract

Further secondary emission characteristics of Al203 and MgO dynodes are reported and a partial explanation of the behaviour of the resistance-strip electron multiplier is presented. Studies of thin-film tunnel current diodes and triodes and of hot electron injection into such devices are reported. Several experiments relating to BaO, (BaSr)O and nickelate cathodes are described. Further results of the surface studies of the Ge:Na and Si:Na systems are presented and progress in the understanding of the bombardment-induced desorption process is described. Successful growth of Na3Sb crystals is reported. A theoretical description of the diffraction of low-energy electrons by a crystal is discussed. (Author)
