HIGH-ALTITUDE BALLOONS ANNOTATED BIBLIOGRAPHY (PRELIMINARY)

An annotated bibliography is presented (plus Appendix) of Soviet, Soviet-bloc, and American scientific and technical articles and monographs related to high-altitude balloons and their application in geophysics. The materials included in the bibliography have been derived from opensource specialized technical and popular scientific periodicals available at the Aerospace Information Division and the Library of Congress. Titles of Soviet monographs are given in transliterated form followed by the English translation. Titles of German monographs are given in the original German followed by the English translation. The entries in the annotated bibliography and the appendix are arranged alphabetically by author. Library of Congress call numbers are given at the end of an entry when the item is cataloged and available in the collections of the Library. (Author)
