Abstract
- The development of a parallel simulation computer from concept through to construction and testing is described. Design development is based on early experiments with a Motorola MC 68000 processor and an appraisal of other designs through published work. The final design uses INMOS IMST414 Transputers on extended Eurocard boards, connected to a development system on a PC XT personal computer. Transfer functions relating to the dynamics of an aircraft are used as benchmarks, and a difficulty with the partitioning of dynamic simulations for Transputer execution has been overcome using a partial fraction expansion.
