Generalization of the Perrin-Lorerntz planar oscillator model : applications to the optical anisotropy of biomolecules
-
Abstract
- Thesis (B.S.)--University of Rochester. Dept. of Physics and Astronomy, 1999.<br />The Lorentz-Penin planar oscillator model for the anisotropy of optical properties of planar molecules is generalized to include near-degenerate transitions. The model displays a strong correlation with experimental data for the optical anisotropy of the FennaMatthews-Olson trimer of the green sulfur photosynthetic bacterium Chlorobium tepidum and for the C-phycocyanin trimer of cyanobacteria.
