Abstract

The U.S. Supersonic Transport (SST) program resulted in many significant developments in titanium technology such as metallurgy, brazing, welding, and aircraft structural analysis. A two-phase follow-on program was funded by DOT/FAA to document areas of significant development completed during the SST effort and to expand selected technological areas most applicable to future American aerospace and other industry technology. This report summarizes the work conducted on titanium structure during the two-phase DOT/SST program and provides a concise reference to the more detailed reports available.<br />Report on SST Technology Follow-on Program. Continuation of Contract DOT-FA-SS-71-12. See also AD0913365 and ADB000286.
