Abstract

This flag served as the national colors of the 61st Ohio Volunteer Infantry. The flag has thirty-four stars still intact on a blue canton. The stars are arranged in a double-oval pattern with a single star in each of the canton's four corners. Due to deterioration a star that was likely placed in the canton's upper right corner is lost. The flag's thirteen alternating red and white stripes are pieced. The flag has a portion of gold fringe remaining on its top side.
