Abstract
- Reminiscence and letters. Collection consists of a reminiscence (1908) about his wagon trip from Missouri to Montana Territory in 1866 and later experiences raising sheep, cattle, and hay at Silver Bow; and letters (1892) from U.S. Attorney Elbert D. Weed, Gov. Joseph K. Toole, and others in regard to Cree Indian activity in Silver Bow County.

- Rancher at Silver Bow, Mont. Thomas O. Miles was born in Maugerville, New Brunswick, Canada, on 6 Dec. 1844. He worked on the family farm until 1866, when he headed west for Montana by way of St. Joseph, Mo., and the Bozeman cut-off. He mined in the Summit District until 1870, when he moved to Silver Bow, where he established a ranch. He died in 1923.
