Synergistic effects of cellulosomal xylanase and cellulases from Clostridium cellulovorans on plant cell wall degradation

Research demonstrates that xylanase and cellulase minicellulosomes degrade corn cell walls in a synergistic manner and the maximum synergistic effect is seen at a molar enzyme ratio of 1:2. Data indicate the enzyme combination neither degrades purified substrates nor exhibits synergism in sequential reactions.
