Abstract

Research reveals structural, organizational, and regulatory diversity in the proline catabolic genes between Pseudomonas aeruginosa and P. putida and the genetic processes involved influence the development of proline catabolism in these bacteria. Data show that the proline utilization system from P. aeruginosa differs from that of P. putida in terms of putA gene.
