Abstract

Research has been conducted on Ralstonia eutropha tetrameric cytoplasmic [NiFe] hydrogenase. The site-directed mutagenesis has been extended to the conserved regions of active site-containing subnunit HoxH, and the resulting [NiFe] hydrogenase mutants have been characterized with respect to their structural and catalytic properties.
