Abstract

Research discusses the isolation and characterization of osmium complexes that involve the Schiff base diimine ligand, N-arylpyridine-2-carboxaldimine. Results reveal that the diimine in the osmium(II) center coordinated N-arylpyridine-2-carboxaldimine ligand renders it susceptible to oxidation, leading to a z+1 metal oxidation state upon oxidation of one ligand.
