Crystal structure and functional analysis of the histone methyltransferase SET7/9

The crystal structure of the human SET7/9 large fragment reveals a beta-domain and conserved SET domains at the N-terminus and the mutagenesis studies identify the involvement of two amino acid residues at the C-terminus in the catalysis. Further, the binding of the AdoMet cofactor suggests the involvement of invariant residues as well in catalysis.
