Evidence for a plasma membrane-mediated permeability barrier to Tat basic domain in well-differentiated epithelial cells: lack of correlation with heparin sulfate

Research has been conducted on the membrane permeation Tat-peptides. Vectorial transport properties of these peptides have been investigated and the results indicate that the presence of the permeation barrier to Tat-peptides in epithelial cells suggests the existence of the cell-specific mechanisms mediating peptides' translocation.
