Insulator goes conducting. Simple UV method converts metal oxides to transparent conductors

Researchers in Japan have developed a technique that alters insulating calcium-aluminum oxide into a transparent electrical conductor by heating it and then exposing it to light. The technique might be applicable to other metal oxides.
