Ketene-forming eliminations from aryl phenylacetates promoted by R (sub)2 NH/R (sub)2 NH (sub)2 (super)+ in aqueous MeCN. Mechanistic borderline between E2 and E1cb

Research has been conducted on the elimination reactions. Results indicate that these reactions proceed via the E2 mechanism and that this mechanism gradually changes from E2 to E1cb due to a systematic change of the reactant structure.
