Abstract

This is a study that utilizes descriptive statistics to examine the extent to which information technology has been applied in the public and private sectors of the Zimbabwean economy. The study also examines managerial areas that typically utilize IT in Zimbabwe, the type of information technology that is used in terms of hardware and software, and the characteristics and profile of an individual user. This study also looks at whether previous computer experience has any bearing on a manager's perception of information technology or actual computer use in a management setting. The study targets chief executives and senior management personnel across a broad spectrum of public and private organizations.
