Synthesis of (E)-4-hydroxydimethylallyl diphosphate. An intermediate in the methyl erythritol phosphate branch of the isoprenoid pathway

Research has been conducted on the isoprenoid compounds. The syntheses of (E)-1-hydroxy-2-methyl-2-buten-4-yl diphosphate and (E)-[4- (super)2 H](E)-4-hydroxydimethylallyl diphosphate have been carried out from (E)-4-chloro-2-methyl-2-butenal and the details are reported.
