Abstract
- Jean-Jacques Rousseau offered George Simon Harcourt a portfolio of engravings to his works in 1767 as appreciation for Harcourt's managing the sale of Rousseau's print collection. Close examination of these illustrations offers new insight about how Rousseau chose them, especially for the novel 'Julie.'
