The RuvABC resolvase is indispensable for recombinational repair in sbcB15 mutants of Escherichia coli

Abstract: Results indicate that in the recBC and sbcBC mutants of Escherichia coli, the postsynaptic recombination is dependent on the RuvABC proteins to a larger extent than the wild-type cells. In the SbcB15 mutant, the protein binds to a recombinogenic DNA, which requires RuvABC resolvase for making the final stage of recombination.
