The 2-aminoethylphosphonate-specific transaminase of the 2-aminoethylphosphonate degradation pathway

Results reveal that the 2-aminoethylphosphonate transaminase is homologous to members of the aminotransferase family with respect to both structure and catalytic function. Substrate specificity analysis indicate that the enzyme singularly participates in the synthesis and degradation of 2-aminoethylphosphonate.
