Spa32 regulates a switch in substrate specificity of the type III secretion of Shigella flexneri from needle components to Ipa proteins

Research has been conducted on the gram-negative Shigella bacterium's type III secretion system. The generation of spa32 mutant and localization of the Spa32 protein in this bacterium have been carried out in investigating the genes required for Ipa protein secretion and the results are reported.
