Desert Hedgehog/Patched 1 signaling specifies fetal Leydig cell fate in testis organogenesis

Abstract: Research has been conducted on the steroid-producing Leydig cell lineage. The effect of the Desert Hedgehog/Patched 1 signaling on the Leydig cell differentiation has been investigated and the results indicate that this signaling triggers Leydig cell differentiation by up-regulating enzyme expression in Patched 1-expressing precursor cells.
