Kinetics of formation and molecular structures of a trinuclear intermediate [(Me)(N-N)Pt(mu-Cl)Ag(mu-Cl)Pt(N-N)(Me)] (super)+ and its dinuclear evolution product [(Me)(N-N)Pt(mu-Cl)Pt(N-N)(Me)] (super)+ (N-N= ArN=C(Me)C(Me)=NAr, Ar= 2,6-(i-Pr) (sub)2 C (sub)6 H (sub)3)

Research has been conducted on the ligand metathesis silver-assisted reaction of the platinum(II) complex with acetonitrile. The results of the kinetic studies indicate that the silver assistance operates via an associative step.
