Abstract

The loading and initial elongation modules of rifamycin synthetase (LM-MI) bimodular protein facilitates the formation of the phenyl ketide 3-hydroxy-2-methyl-3-phenylpropionate. Data suggest that the production of phenyl ketide appears to be dependent on the covalent loading of benzoate onto LM-MI.
