New insights into the chemistry of lithium carbamoyls: characterization of an adduct (R(sub)2NC(O)CLi(OLi)NR(sub)2)

The reaction between lithium dicyclohexylamide and N,N-dibutylformamide and other disubstituted formamides generates dilithiated intermediate with a lithiated carbon atom bonded to N, O, and a carbonyl functionality as shown by (sup)13C nuclear magnetic resonance and gas chromatography analyses.
