Diastereoselective nucleophilic substitution reactions of oxasilacyclopentane acetals: application of the 'inside attack' model for reactions of five-membered ring oxocarbenium ions

Research has been conducted on the derived from oxasilacyclopentane acetals oxarbenium ions. The nucleophile additions to these ions have been carried out and the results indicate that these reaction form the syn stereochemistry about the established carbon-carbon bond.
