Results reveal that the extracellular proteins of Vibrio cholerae exhibit an extracellular transport signal of the endochitinase, which is localized to a region between amino acids 75 and 555 of the enzyme. Data indicate that the transport signal protein is a structural motiff of the enzyme endochitinase.
