Abstract

Asia-Pacific culture, given political-economic identity by the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation formed in 1989, has been increasingly explored by authors since the mid-19th century. Although the scholarly world is attempting to establish this realm of study, no cultural studies program currently addresses this region's transformations of purpose and place adequately.
