A three-component coupling process based on vicarious nucleophilic substitution (VNS (sub)AR)-alkylation reactions: an approach to Indoprofen and derivatives

Research has been conducted on the vicarious nucleophilic substitution-alkylation reaction. Results indicate that this reaction offers a route to the alpha-substituted nitrobenzyl phosphine oxides, sulfones and esters via the three-component coupling reaction and that vicarious nucleophilic substitution-alkylation protocol can be applied to the Indoprofen derivative synthesis.
